Aaliyah Destiny "Debo" Simmons, went home to Jesus Friday, October 3, 2025 at the age of 21. She was born to Kimberly Mateus and the late Dusty Simmons on November 18, 2003 in Greenville, SC.
Aaliyah was a loving mother, daughter, sister, granddaughter, niece, and cousin. She was a very caring and bright spirit who lit up every room she ever walked into. Aaliyah loved Jesus, her family, and her child. She always wanted to help others and enjoyed solving problems. She also loved to sing and play her ukulele.
In addition to her mother, Aaliyah is survived by her daughter, Lucile Cano; sister, Seante Simmons (Trey Harris); brothers: Dustin Simmons (Tommie Fortner), Andrew Cox, and Caleb Couch; paternal grandparents, Kathy Simmons (Michael King) and Buck Simmons (Tracy Ballard); maternal grandparents, Carol Lachino (Marco Valdovino) and Carlos Lachino; aunts, Crystal Simmons and Michelle Feltman (Salvador Pacheco); uncle, Daniel Crisp; and many extended family members, friends, and loved ones. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her daugher, Lillianna Cano; uncle, Branden Simmons; aunt, Amanda Feltman; and cousin, Payten Simmons.
Funeral services will be held 1:30 PM Friday, October 10, 2025 at Graceland Mortuary, 4814 White Horse Rd., Greenville, SC 29611. The family will receive friends and loved ones an hour and a half prior, beginning 12:00 PM. Committal and burial will follow in Graceland Cemetery West.
