Alma "Ruth" Neal, 77, was welcomed into the arms of the Lord on January 5th, 2021. She was born on November 8th, 1943 to Bonnie Taylor and the late George Lewis. She was born and raised in New Castle, Indiana and moved to the Upstate in 1991.

Ruth graduated from Western Michigan University in 1982 with a Bachelor's degree in social work. She was employed as an Insurance Agent at AFLAC for 10 years and was a substitute teacher for 10 years in the Upstate public school system. Ruth was a member of Chapman Memorial Church of the Nazarene in Vicksburg, Michigan and GFN Church of the Nazarene in Greenville, SC. She loved to sing and was active in both choirs. Ruth was very passionate about staying involved in her community. She was a volunteer for Girl Scouts and loved traveling across the world with the Miss Softball America team. Being affiliated with these organizations allowed for her to see all different parts of the country and even travel internationally. Ruth was a prayer warrior who loved to pray for those around her and wanted everyone to have Jesus as their Savior. In her free time, she enjoyed being with her family, helping others, singing, swimming, and walking the Mackinac Bridge every chance she had.

Ruth is survived by her mother, Bonnie Stockton; her children: Rhonda Skipper (Craig), Rita Sanabria (Mauricio), Roger Kunselman, Robert Kunselman (Heather); her grandchildren: Logan and Morgan Skipper, Hadley and Harrison Kunselman, and Sophia and Vincent Sanabria; and her sister, Lesia Lewis Diego. She is predeceased by her husband, Edward Neal; and her brothers: Bill and Jim Lewis.

There will be a private graveside service on Thursday, January 7th, 2021 at 3:30pm at Graceland Cemetery-WEST.
