Anthony Wayne Moore, Sr., 81, husband of the late V. Lorraine P. Moore, of Greenville, was welcomed into the arms of his Lord, January 1, 2022.
Born in Sherwood, Tennessee to William and Delores Moore, he was the oldest of seven children. He was a military brat and having traveled around the world, he decided to make Greenville his home.

He met his wife, Lorraine, on a blind date, September 7, 1962. And one year later on the same date, they married.
Wayne and Lorraine had four children. Tony (Megan) Moore, Nadine (Richard) Bishop, Stacie (David) Phillips and Lara (Clifford) Ball.
When the first grandchild was born, he became known to everyone as Papa. Papa had 27 grand children and 24 great-grandchildren.

Wayne worked in textiles for most of his life. He later worked and retired from GE Gas Turbine in 2009. Wayne loved to go fishing with his children & summers were spent at Lake Hartwell, and he loved the Tennessee Volunteers. You very rarely saw him without his Tennessee hat or wearing the Tennessee colors.
Wayne and Lorraine were members of a bowling league in the 1970s. He also played softball and was a coach with the Furman Sans Souci Youth Association. Wayne became an avid golfer, along with his son Tony.


Wayne is survived by his sisters: Carole (Paul) Wroblos, Edith "Punkin" (Mark)
Cameren and Michelle "MiMi" Moore; and a brother James "Skeeter" Moore.
In addition to his parents, Wayne was preceded in death by a brother, Larry Moore and a sister Jerrie Raineville.

A visitation will be held Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at Graceland Mortuary from 5:30 to 8 PM. A celebration of life will be held at Clearview Baptist church in Travelers Rest Thursday, January 6, at 2 PM, followed by burial.
