Obituary

Barbara Jo Alameda passed away May 2nd, 2021 in her home in Williamston, SC.

Barbara was born to Leland "Buck" and Fern Alameda September 13th, 1949 in Denver, CO.

She had two children, Zac Joe of Seattle, WA and Lacy Polichio of Williamston, SC. She had four Grandchildren, Lillie, Evan, Chloe, and Elias. Being a Grandmother was her favorite accomplishment in life. She was known as "Gma" and Grandma "Spencer" Joe.

Barbara grew up on the ranges of Wyoming. She would spend most of her life in Wyoming and Colorado. She was a cowgirl at heart until the day she left. While in South Carolina, she enjoyed watching the cows come in, taking in the scenery that surrounded her and gardening, always eager to contribute to the beauty around her.

Barbara was very creative, an exceptional artist, who loved interior design and paleontology. She attended Casper College in the 90's, where she worked with the college museum digging and rebuilding dinosaurs and other geological artifacts. She worked in special education off and on from the 80's until she retired around 2010.

Barbara had a positive influence on the people she met and knew. She was easy to talk to and was known for being kind-hearted and gentle. She was often called "Mom" by many, although she only had two biological children. She always had a great story to tell and a goofy sense of humor.

She walked many paths in her life and had a plethora of knowledge to share. If you knew Barbara, you loved her. She will be greatly missed by many.

She is proceeded in death by her eldest child Misty Lynn, both parents (Buck & Fern), sister Mary Lynn (Alameda), and granddaughter Lillie (Joe-Polichio).

Survivors include her two children, Zac Joe and Lacy Polichio; three grandchildren, Evan and Chloe (Joe) and Elias (Polichio); two siblings Karen Allison and Glen Alameda; several nieces and nephews; many others who became family and a long list of friends she made along the way.

A celebration of life and scattering of ashes will be held in Wyoming, summer of 2022. More information will be announced later.
