Cabe Cooke
October 12, 1942 – December 12, 2025
Barbara Jean Cabe Cooke, age 83, passed away at home in Easley, SC on Dec 12, 2025. She was preceded in death by her Husband, Leslie D Cooke of Easley, parents, Lester and Coleen Cabe and brother, James D Cabe Sr of Mooresville, NC and John Cabe Jr of South Berwick Maine.
She is survived by her daughter Lisa Cooke Gantt (Bradley) of Easley SC; two granddaughters, Leslie Estelle Gantt and Lindsey Grace Gantt of Atlanta, GA and nephews Michael Cabe (Traci) and James D. Cabe, Jr (Kay) of Mooresville, NC and nephew and niece Jeff Cabe and Jessica Cabe of South Berwick, Maine.
She is also survived by the following members of her late husband's family: her brother-in-law Vichard Cooke (Carol) and their sons, Jamie Cooke (Michelle), Darin Cooke (Sunny) and David Cooke (Tessa) and nephew Chad Cooke (Huynh).
Barbara was born in the Tellico community, near Franklin, NC. After elementary school, the family moved to Gastonia, NC, the to Mooresville, NC. After high school, Barbara worked at Draymoor Textiles. She married Leslie Dean Cooke of Mooresville, NC in Jan 1964. A few years later, they moved to Greenville SC. They were married 60 wonderful years at his passing in mid-2024.
Barbara was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was a proud homemaker and was dedicated to her family. She was happiest with her husband, daughter, and two granddaughters, whom she completely adored.
For leisure, Barbara enjoyed sewing, camping with family, spending time with friends playing cards, and fishing. She most enjoyed being a grandmother to Leslie and Lindsey. They brought such joy to her world and she showed them pure, unconditional love.
Barbara was a dedicated member of Bethesda United Methodist Church in Easley, SC.
Our hearts are heavy with grief, but we know she is with her Lord, Jesus, healed from disease and reunited with her husband whom she missed so much.
