Barney Lee Stewart, 77, of 7 S. Davis Dr. passed away on Monday June 15, 2009. Mr. Stewart was the son of the late Prue Lee and Ruth Brookshire Stewart. He retired after 20 years in the military and also retired from General Electric as a Quality Inspector. Mr. Stewart is survived by his wife: Jo Ann McAbee Stewart of the home; 9 children: David and Kay Stewart, Robert and Angie Stewart, Charlie and Kelli Stewart, Karen and Daryl Vogann, Deborah and Frankie Payne, Mike Pittman, Butch and Lisa Pittman, Scott and Mary Ann Pittman, and Carol and Don King all of Greenville; 1 brother: M.D. Stewart of Myrtle Beach, SC; 2 sisters: Helen Marett of Atlanta, GA and Gaye Bean of Spartanburg, SC; 25 grand children and 10 great grand children. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Ruby Renee Stewart; a brother: Bobby Stewart; and a sister: Doris Herring. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday June 17, 2009 at 1:30 pm at Brandon Baptist Church. There will be a visitation prior to the service from 12:00 pm until 1:30 pm. Burial will follow the service at Graceland Cemetery West. The family will be at their respective homes.
