Obituary

Betty L. Bayne, 79, of Long Creek Rd. in Easley, SC made her Heavenly journey Friday afternoon, February 8th, 2013 from St. Francis Hospital in Greenville, SC.

She was the daughter of the late Walter Samuel and late Alma Rose Holcombe Knight and was the wife of the late James Cecil Bayne. Mrs. Bayne attended the Washington Avenue Church of God where she was a member of the Auditorium Sunday School Class. She worked over 30 years as a press operator at J.P. Stevens.

She leaves behind two daughters, Gail (Beaufort) Youngblood of Easley and Wanda (Glenn) Benton of Taylors, a grandson Jonathan Benton of Taylors, two sisters, Violet Durham and Syble Hunt, both of Greenville, and three brothers, Sam Knight of Greer, Bobby Knight of Greenville, and Paul Knight of Columbia. Mrs. Bayne was preceded in death, along with her husband, mother, and father, by a sister Faye Padgett of Blythewood, Peggy Byars of Greenville, and a long time companion Roy Porter of Pendleton, SC.

Visitation will be held at Graceland Mortuary from 7 until 9pm Monday, February 11, 2013. A chapel service will be held at Graceland Mortuary 11am Tuesday, February 12, 2013 with the Rev. Ken McDonald and the Rev. Gene Land officiating. Interment will follow the service at Graceland West Cemetery.

The family would like to express their sincerest thanks to the doctors, nurses, and medical personnel of St. Francis Hospital downtown for their generous care and compassion.

Flowers are welcome but memorials may also be made to the charity of one's choice in honor of Mrs. Betty L. Bayne.
