With heavy hearts, the family of Brenda Compton Richardson announces the passing of their beloved mother, grandmother, and sister, who peacefully departed this life on August 16, 2024, at the age of 80.

Born on June 17, 1944, in Greenville, SC, Brenda was a beacon of warmth and friendship, leaving a lasting impression on all who knew her. The cherished daughter of the late Henry and Louise Davidson, she was raised in a family where faith, hard work, and generosity were deeply ingrained values.

Brenda's unwavering faith was a cornerstone of her life. She found great comfort in listening to the teachings of Jimmy Swaggart and, in her later years, often enjoyed the music from his ministry. Brenda's happiest moments were spent sharing stories, laughter, and the simple joy of being surrounded by those she loved.

A passionate collector, Brenda had a special fondness for pigs, which brought her endless delight. Yet, it was her loving nature and caregiving spirit that truly defined her. She had a remarkable ability to make everyone feel cherished, and her kindness knew no limits. Whether offering a listening ear or a comforting shoulder, Brenda was always there for those in need.

Brenda is survived by her devoted children: Bill Compton and his wife Lisa, Robert Compton and his wife Kym, Angie Brooks and her husband Ben, and Amanda Lollis. She also leaves behind her treasured grandchildren: Kayla Taciak and her husband Marc, Nathan Compton, Adam Brooks and his wife Emily, Kyle Brooks, Matthew Compton, Kevin Compton and his wife Courtney, Jennifer Brooks, Angelique McCoig and her wife Kari, Grace Compton, Rachel Brooks, Skyler Lollis, and Sierra Lollis. She is also survived by her sister, Esther Howard. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Don Richardson; her brother, James Davidson and her parents, Henry and Louise Davidson.

A funeral service to honor Brenda's life will be officiated by Rev. Mike Stansell 1:00 PM Thursday, August 22, 2024 at Park Street Baptist Church, 114 Robinson Ave., Easley, SC 29640. Visitation will begin an hour prior at 12:00 PM. A graveside gathering at Mountain View Memorial Park in Travelers Rest, SC will follow the services. Afterward, all are invited to the home of Adam and Emily Brooks for a celebration of Brenda's life.

The family is deeply grateful for the outpouring of love and support during this difficult time. Brenda's legacy of laughter, kindness, and service will continue to live on in all of them. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
