Cecelia Smith Evans, 70, joined the choir of angels in Heaven on Thursday, February 11th, 2021. She was born on April 28th, 1950 to the late Elmer Smith and the late Ruby Lee Godfrey.

Cecelia was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. She was blessed with incredible musical talents. She played piano and had a beautiful singing voice. Cecelia was a feisty lady with lots of soul and passion. She was extremely protective of her family. She had a big heart that was full of love for the ones around her and for animals, especially her chihuahua, Rascal. Cecelia grew up in the Dunean Community and was of Baptist faith.

Cecelia is survived by her husband, Talmadge Evans, Sr.; her children: Nikki McJunkin (Stanley), Becky Ricks (Greg), and Rusty Evans; her grandchildren: Stephanie McJunkin, Shawna Evans, Gregory Ricks, Jr., and Evan Ricks; her great grandchildren: Angel and Addison; and her brother. Harold Smith (Joan).

Cecelia is preceded in death by her parents, Elmer Smith and Ruby Lee Godfrey.

Visitation is planned for Tuesday, February 16th, 2021 from 12:30-1:00pm at Graceland Mortuary. Service will be at 1:00pm followed by interment at Graceland Cemetery-West.
