Charles "Chuck" Hayes 68, of Greenville passed away Friday October 7, 2016. He was a son of the late Alton and Lillian Whitford Hayes and proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He was an avid fan of the Clemson Tigers and the Tennesse Vols. He also loved to multiple genres of music and loved to read and write poetry.

He is survived by two sons: Alton Hayes (Misti) of Greer, SC and Thomas Hayes (Ashley) of Ooltewah, TN, six grandchildren; Gabriele Blanton, Lindsey Elam, JC Elam, Brandon Edgar, Kathleen Barrett, and Madison Hayes, two brothers; Les Hayes of Easley and Ted Hayes of Michigan. In addition to his parent,s Chuck is preceded in death by a brother, John, two sisters, Melody, and Nancy, and a granddaughter Andrea Hayes.

A time of gathering will be held at M. J. "Dolly" Cooper Veterans Cemetery at a later time.
