Obituary
Charles Rice Smith, 70, of 205 Buncombe St. passed away on Feb. 13, 2011 at Richard M. Campbell Veterans Nursing Home in Anderson.
He is the son of the late Julius Rice and Hazel Ward Smith. He is also retired from Steel Heddle and is a member of El Bethel Baptist Church in Greer.
Mr. Smith is survived by a son: Eric (Renee) Smith of Easley; a sister: Christine (Coolidge) Sloan of Greer; a brother: Lee Vernon (Jo Ann) Smith of Easley; two grandchildren: Zachary William and Erica Renee Smith of Easley; a niece: Teresa S. (Kerry) Porter of Pickens; a nephew: Wendell (Malinda) Smith of San Antonio, TX; great nieces: Meghan Porter of Pickens and Hayley and Samantha Smith of San Antonio, TX.
He is predeceased by his brother Richard Adolph Smith and his niece Teresa S. Porter.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday February 17, 2011 at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Graceland Mortuary. Interment will follow the service at Graceland Cemetery West. There will be a visitation on Wednesday February 16, 2011 from 6:30 pm until 8:30 pm at the mortuary.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Alzheimer's Association SC Chapter Greenville Branch 301 University Ridge Greenville, SC 29601.
The family will be at 820 Mtn. View Ct. Greer, SC 29651.
