Christopher M. Griffin Sr., May 8, 1964 - March 13, 2020, passed away after a long illness. He is predeceased by his father Dallas W. Griffin Sr., his aunt Kathleen Griffin Dickson, his uncle Larry L. Simmons and his final life partner Dawn Bray.

He is survived by his mother Mrs. Ann S. Griffin, his brothers Jim and Dallas Griffin, his sister Lisa A. Griffin and his cousins Kathy D. Good and her son, Lane Good. He is also survived by his only child, Christopher Matthew Griffin II (Ellen). He will be greatly missed by us all.

He graduated from Mauldin High School in 1982 where he was on the soccer team and golf team.  He enjoyed all outdoor sports including most watersports, motorcycles and fishing and camping. Chris had a huge green thumb and loved gardening all of his life.

Chris worked for thirty years in the local construction industry with positions at Zupan and Smith Sand and Concrete; Ed Burgess Builders in Simpsonville; Carolina Builders, Greenville; Stock, Greenville, and finally creating his own business, Need a Handyman, from 2007-2014.  He retired in 2014 due to health issues.

Chris lived his life with a devil-may-care attitude, and spiced everything with his own unique brand of humor. He was soft-hearted and compassionate and quick to sprout a tear in times of duress.   He loved his family and his kitties without fault. Chris had three great loves in his life - Dawn, Lori and Chrissy with whom he had his only child and most cherished person, his son Christopher.

Services for Chris will be Friday, March 20th at Graceland Mortuary, 4814 White Horse Road, Greenville, SC 29611. Visitation will be from 2-4 p.m. and service from 4-5 p.m. The family understands the current climate of Covid-19 and respects your discretion upon whether to attend these services.
