Clarence Douglas Cromer

Clarence Douglas Cromer, 94, passed away at his home on Sunday February 28, 2010 after a lengthy illness.
He was the son of the late Edward Boyd and Eula Mae Carnes Cromer. He was married to his wife Obra Fowler Cromer for 73 years.
Before retiring he was employed with St Joe Paper in Laurens as a Maintenance Manager. He was also a member of the Shriner's and Woodman of the World as well as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Berea.
Mr. Cromer was a veteran of the US Navy where he earned an American Service Medal, World War II Victory Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Camp Medal - 1 Star, and Philippines Liberation Medal - 1 Star. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter: Barbara (Leonard) Popham of Lynchburg, VA; a son: Doug (Nancy) Cromer of Fairplay, SC; two sisters: Thelma Sutton of Greenville and Eula Mae "Buddie" James of Mauldin; four grandchildren: Lisa DeOreo, Jeffrey Cromer, Wendy Bronson, and Juliet McDonald; seven great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Cromer was predeceased by five brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday March 3, 2010 at 1 pm at The Church of Latter Day Saints in Berea. There will be a visitation prior to the service from 11am until 12:45 pm at the church.
