Della Childress Hazel, 97, of Greenville passed away Monday following a brief illness. She was the daughter of the late Thomas Lloyd Childress and the late Hattie Andrews Childress Gravatt of Greenville and the loving wife of the late Johnny I. Hazel for 68 years. They had no children.

She is survived by two nephews and two nieces and many great nephews and great nieces, all of whom are the progeny of her only sibling her late brother Thomas Allen Childress and the late Martha Suddath Childress.

Before her husband's passing, they were members of and regularly attended services at the Monaghan Baptist Church. She worked for Maxon Shirt Company for years before her retirement.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, July 1, 2017 in the Graceland Mortuary Chapel. Interment will follow at Graceland Cemetery West.
