Donald Scott "Scotty" Morton, 57, of Piedmont, SC, passed away Tuesday, August 5, 2025. He was born in Greenville, SC to the late Molly Gilliland Morton and Donald Thomas Morton and grew up in the 60s and 70's. Scotty attended Parker High School and worked in various textile mills around Greenville. In his later years he did lawn care and construction projects for neighbors on Rosalee Drive.

Scotty is survived by his daughter, Rachel Morton; doggy son, Clipper; girlfriend, Amanda Fuller; sisters, Anita Holloway (Lewis), and Diane Morris;  brother-in-law, Ronnie Stancill; brother, Jessie E. Hill (Sheila); many cousins, nieces and nephews; special friends: Becky and Frankie, Jan and John, Tonja and Michael, Robbie and Caroline, Carolyn and Earnest, Jackie and Phil, Manuel and family, Suzanne Crawford, Marlene Rogers, Donna and Amanda Osborne; and many more friends and neighbors in West Gannt.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by grandparents, Hobart and Josephine Gilliland; sister, Betty Morton Stancill; brothers: Paul E Morris, Ronald Anthony Morton, and Ricky Gilliland; sister-in-law, Karen Joan Gilliland; neice, Robin Gilliland; and girlfriend, Lisa McAleer Phillips.

A Celebration of Life service will be held 7:00 PM Thursday September 4, 2025 at New Life Baptist Church, 2691 W Blue Ridge Dr., Greenville, SC 29611; the family will receive friends and loved ones an hour prior, beginning 6:00 PM.
