Dorothy Louise Shelnut, 91, was taken into the arms of Jesus Christ on April 12, 2025. She was born on September 24, 1933 to the late Fred and Annie Gilstrap in Cleveland, Georgia.

Dorothy met her husband William "Bill" Shelnut in Cleveland, GA and were married in 1950. They moved to Greenville, SC in 1953. They had a daughter named Debbie. They were married for 75 years. Dorothy loved playing the piano at her church, and sewing; she was a wonderful seamstress, and cook. She and Bill loved planting a bountiful garden of vegetables every year.

Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Debbie Shelnut; grandson, Timothy Shelnut; and great-granddaughter, Lillian Shelnut.

A graveside service will be held 3:00 PM Wednesday, April 16, 2025 at Graceland Cemetery West, 4814 White Horse Rd., Greenville, SC 29611.
