Eddie Lee Murray was born in Boston, Ma, January 18, 1954. He was the 5th child of five children born to Sylvester Murray Sr. and Annie B. Wilburn Murray. His siblings were Annie Doris Murray Maddox (Henry), Sylvester Murray Jr (Jo-Anne), Marion Murray Best (John) and Marie Murray. Eddie also has another sister Jonnie from a previous marriage of Sylvester Murray. Eddie was a very adorable baby and his sisters loved to do his hair and dress him up. Eddie was gifted a great singing voice by his father Deacon Sylvester Murray. Deacon Murray was the co-founder of St. John Missionary Baptist Church in Boston where he was the chairman of the Deacon Board for many years. Eddie was the lead singer in a
band that he started call the "Fabulous Basics." He also would sing lots of gospel songs.
Eddie was a diligent worker and received accolades from all his employers over the years including the Register of deeds in Boston, Boston Logan Airport and as a driver for the MBTA. After he retired from the MBTA he worked for Children's Hospital. One of his favorite hobbies was motor cycle riding many times with cousin Charles Wilburn. Often would take motor cycle trips.
Eddie an attentive son, brother and father. He met and married the late Jackie Jefferson and they had three sons, Darryl Jefferson (Tonya), Eddie Murray Jr. (Joy) and Austin Murray Christine). Eddie was pre-deceased by his parents Sylvester and Annie B. Murray, his sisters Marion and Marie, his brother Sylvester jr. and his wife Jackie. Eddie leaves to mourn his three sons Darryl (Tonya), Eddie (Joy), Austin (Christine); their children, Eddie Murray III, Evan Murray, Michah Murray, Alaina Murray, Austin Murray Jr., Darryl Jefferson Jr., and Elijah Jefferson; his grandchildren, Noah Murray, Ashton Murray, and Kaylin Murray; his sisters Doris and Jonnie and many cousins and
friends.
