It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Edward Matthew Thornton, 87, of Brighton, MI on June 28, 2020. "Ed" Thornton,
son of Joseph and Helen Thornton, loving husband of Carole Anna Thornton for 44 years, passed away early Sunday morning in Greenville, SC. He is survived by his wife Carole and his five daughters, Tamara Anderson, Karen Thurman, Rebecca Saldivar, Lorraine Armstrong, and Angela Gross. He is also survived by his 18 grandchildren. Ed graduated from Bellaire High School in 1950 where he was heavily involved in the marching band program. He worked for many years as a tool and die maker for General Motors until his retirement in 2001. He loved music and dancing. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Receiving of friends will be held on Friday, July 3, from 12 to 1 PM, with the funeral to follow in the Graceland Mortuary Chapel.
