Forest Otis Dowens Jr.
Greenville
Forest Otis Dowens Jr. of 418 Perry Ave. passed away on Nov. 3, 2010.
Mr. Dowens was born to the late Forest O. Dowens Sr. and Mary Massey Dowens. He was the last surviving of 10 children and is predeceased by a son Willie Sammie Dowens.
He is survived by his wife of 39 yrs. Margaree W. Dowens, 2 daughters, Jo Ann D. Rainey of Greenville and Glory G. Sullivan of Greenville, 1 son Terry Dowens of Greenville; 3 nieces Doris White of Greenville, Linda M. Kirksey of Mauldin, and Mary Olga Peralta of Greenville; 4 nephews Billie Joe Dowens of Columbia, SC, Robert Miles of Greenville, Andrew Miles of Greenville, and Sidney Peralta, Jr. of Greenville; 4 great nephews, 11 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, 6 great-great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday Nov. 10, 2010 at 1:30 pm in the chapel of Graceland Mortuary with interment following in Graceland West Cemetery. There will be a visitation on Tuesday Nov. 9, 2010 from 6 pm until 7 pm at the mortuary.
The family will be at the residence.
