Francina Victoria McGowan, 63, of Taylors, passed from her husbands loving embrace into the arms of the Heavenly Father. She was born August 13, 1956 to the late George L. Wofford, Sr. and Julia Anita Foster.

She was the loving and faithful wife of Steve McGowan for 35 years. She worked to the Greenville Hospital System for many years as a Certified Nursing Assistant as well as for some private assisted living facilities. She was an avid fan of daytime soap operas, particularly Days of Our Lives and Guiding Light. She was known for her love of cooking, cross word puzzles, and her contagious laughter. Francina loved to spend time with friends and family. She was of the Baptist faith.

Francina is survived by her husband Steve; daughter Anitress Wofford; two sons: Steven McGowan and Ferlando McGowan(Veonca), and step-son Travis McGowan; two grandchildren: Bri'asia and Amani McGowan; nephew George Lamar Rose- Wofford; niece Deshia Booker; six sisters: Carrie Lee Cox, Shirley Butler(Don), Oliva Harris(Author), Brenda Wofford, Loretta Wofford, and Telola Wofford; four brothers: Vann Wofford(Pat), George Wofford, and Roy Wofford; special friends: Linda Aiken and Sonya Fair; as well as a host of many nieces, nephews, brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws.

In addition to her parents, Francina is preceded in death by her three brothers: J.B. Wofford, Johnny Wofford and his wife Willie Mae, as well as James Bradley and his wife Sara; and two sisters: Julia Hawkins and Harriett Wofford, and sister-in-law Barbara Bowen.

A Visitation will take place on Thursday, January 30, 2020 from 12:00-1:00 pm with the Service to follow at 1:00 pm in the Chapel of Graceland Mortuary.
