Obituary

Private Gavin Cole Chambers, 21, passed away at Fort Hood, Texas, on April 23, 2020. He was born the son of Karen Elizabeth Roach and the late Richard Lee Chambers, on February 24, 1999.

Gavin was a Private in the United States Army, stationed in Fort Hood, Texas. He worked as a diesel mechanic. He joined in August of 2018.

Gavin was apple of his mother's' eye for 21 years and will forever be his mom's "Goonie-Goo". He loved music, dancing, fishing, and working out. He was baptised at the South Main Baptist Church in Greenwood.

He is survived by his mother Karen E. Prescott, aunts Amelia Breisch (Dan) and Kathy Harper; uncles Tony Roach (Susan) and Marc Roche; maternal grandparents Patricia Roach and L. Verner Roach, and cousins who loved him dearly.

He is preceded in death by his father Richard Lee Chambers, and paternal grandparents Masako Chambers and Clyde Chambers.

A private family visitation will take place on Thursday, May 07, 2020 at 1 pm with graveside service to follow at the mausoleum of Graceland Cemetery-WEST at 2 pm.
