Mr. Hamilton Y. "Hamp" Kerns, Jr, age 92, of Miramar Beach, Florida passed away August 10, 2016. He was born in Greenville, South Carolina and was the son of the late Hamilton Kerns, Sr. & Virginia Ward Kerns.

Mr. Kerns was a native of Greenville, SC and a resident of Miramar Beach, Florida for the past eight years moving from Woodbine, Georgia. He was Baptist by faith, a Navy veteran of WWII, a Scottish Rite Mason with Brandon Lodge and a Hejaz Shriner.

Mr. Kerns was preceded in death by his wife of 73 years, Georgia Kerns, his daughter, Linda Cheryl Kerns, his parents, brothers Jack and Thomas Kerns and sisters Alice Kerns and Hazel Barnes.

He is survived by his children, Susan Jackson of Santa Rosa Beach, Florida and Cynthia Conley and husband, Brooks of Miramar Beach, Florida, sisters Virginia Campbell, Tee Askel Chiles, Marianne Wilkerson and brother Frank Kerns, six grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, four great, great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, August 15, 2016 at The Graceland Mortuary Chapel prior to internment at Graceland Cemetery-WEST.

The family will receive friends and family following the service at the home of Duke and Fran Powell, 508 Tracy Trail, Greer, S.C.

In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to Shriners Hospital for Children, 950 West Faris Road, Greenville, SC 29605 or to Emerald Coast Hospice, 200 Grand Blvd # 205, Miramar Beach, FL 32550.
