Hubert Spurgeon Thompson
Marietta
Hubert Spurgeon Thompson, 71, of 840 Gap Creek Rd. passed away on March 24, 2011. He is the son of the late Spurgeon and Sarah Redford Thompson. He is also the husband of Evelyn Mote Thompson. Before retiring he was employed with Combined Utility in Easley as an electrician and attended Gap Creek Baptist Church. In addition to his wife of the home, he is survived by five daughters: Wanda (Steve) Westbrook, Linda Cook, and Sharon (David) Burzinski all of Greenville, Becky (Jeff) Kidder of Ft Meyers, Fl, and Michelle Hamby of Marietta; two brothers: Carroll (Theresa) Thompson of Marietta and Harold (Ruby) Thompson of Greer; two sisters: Della Mae Newberger of Florida and Debbie Fox of Greenville; ten grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Mr. Thompson is predeceased by a brother Bennett Thompson. There will be a visitation on Sunday March 27, 2011 from 3:00 pm until 4:30 pm at Graceland Mortuary Funeral services will be held on Monday March 28, 2011 at 12:30 pm in the chapel of Graceland Mortuary. Interment will follow at Graceland West Cemetery. The family will be at the residence.
