John Horace Lee, born June 27, 1942, in Greenville, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on May 29, 2026, at the home of his daughter in Gatlinburg, Tennessee.  

A graduate of Parker High School and Greenville Technical College, John dedicated 35 years of service as a machinist at Write Medal Products before his retirement.  John was a much-loved husband, father, and friend, known for his warm spirit, strong faith, and devotion to his community. He was a founding member of Trinity Way Baptist Church, where he remained a faithful member throughout his life.  

He was preceded in death by his father, John Horace Lee; his mother, Lucy Melton Lee; and his sister, Carolyn Lee Alexander.  He is survived by his beloved wife, Brenda Looper Shaw Lee of Greenville, South Carolina, and his daughters, Celesta Lee Griffith of Gatlinburg, Tennessee, and Laura Lee Peden.

A service to celebrate John’s life will be held on Monday, June 15, at 1:00 PM at Trinity Way Baptist Church, 4113 Old Buncombe Road, Greenville, South Carolina. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Trinity Way Baptist Church Beautification Fund, 4113 Old Buncombe Road, Greenville, SC 29617, honoring John’s love and dedication to his church community.
