John Sam Sheppard, 58, passed away with his wife Joan by his side on Friday, July 10, 2020. He was born to John Sam Sheppard, Sr. and Rachel S. English on September 13, 1961.

John was married to his wife Joan for 32 years. He was a hardworking man and was a HVAC technician for nearly 20 years. He was the ultimate NASCAR fan, watching every race. He was a good man, husband, and father. John loved his mama and spending time with his newborn granddaughter, Cora.

He is survived by his wife Cynthia Sheppard, children: John Derek Sheppard (Kayla), Naomi Rayne Durham, and Joshua Renner, granddaughter Cora Josephine Sheppard, mother Rachel S. English, brother Michael Sheppard (Deborah), and his beloved Labrador/Pointer mix Peyton. He also leaves behind many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

In addition to his father, John is preceded in death by his two sisters Phyllis Jeanette Sheppard and Connie Sue Cintron.

Services will be held at Cedar Lane Baptist Church, with the visitation being held from 12-2 pm and the funeral starting at 2pm. The graveside committal will be at Graceland Cemetery-WEST at 3:30 pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to the Cedar Lane Baptist Church, located at 203 Marion Street in Greenville.
