Jose I Padilla , 96, of Greenville, SC ascended into the arms of the Holy Father on Tuesday October 1, 2024 . He was born on May 21, 1928 in Leon , Nicaragua, to the late Jose Leon Padilla and Mercedes Palacios .

Jose was the loving and faithful husband of the late Justina A Padilla for over 64 years . They met and married in Leon, Nicaragua. They immigrated to the United States while in their 60's. Jose was a blacksmith for 25 years at the Port of Corinto .

He is survived by sons, Eduardo M Padilla, Jose L Padilla, and Cruz R Padilla; daughter, Eusebia Rosemond; and nine grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and nine nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Monday, October 7, 2024 in the chapel of Graceland Mortuary, 4814 White Horse Rd., Greenville, SC 29611. Visitation will be held prior, beginning 11:00 AM. Committal and burial will follow at Graceland Cemetery West.
