Joyce Floyd Carter Brown, 80, passed away Thursday, July 6, 2017 after several years of declining health. She was born in Greenville, SC to the late Thomas M. and Medra Sweet Floyd. Joyce grew up in the Sans Souci community and was a graduate of Parker High School Class of 1954. She retired from Holder Electric Supply Company.

Joyce is survived by a daughter, Margaret Stroud (Don); one brother, Ted Floyd (Martha); daughter-in-law, Rhonda Hamilton; stepson, Mark Lee Cook, 11 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, two nieces, and one nephew. Joyce was preceded in death by a son, Michael Hamilton, a great granddaughter, two sisters, Elizabeth Sheriff and Betty Brown, and two brothers, Thomas and Ned Floyd.

A private funeral service was held Wednesday, July 12, 2017 at The Graceland Mortuary conducted by the Rev. Shawn Kilpatrick.

The family would like to thank the staff of Heartland West and all employees of Hall 300 for their kindness, love, and the care given to Joyce as well as the staff of Heartland Hospice.
