Leslie formed meaningful connections with those around him, and his memory will remain in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him.

It is with profound sadness, we announce the passing of Leslie Bruce Young III, who departed this life on July 19, 2026, in Orangeburg County, South Carolina, at the age of 30.

Born on March 28, 1996, in Far Rockaway, New York, Leslie was the beloved son of Shanda Westbrooks the late Leslie Bruce Young II. Throughout his life, Leslie formed meaningful connections with those around him, and his memory will remain in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him.

In addition to his father, Leslie was preceded in death by his grandparents, Johnny Lee Westbrooks, Bruce Williams, and Carol Williams.

He leaves behind a family who will forever cherish his memory, including his loving mother, Shanda Phelps; his brother, Freddie Shivers (Hawa) of Greenville, South Carolina; his sisters, Samantha Phelps, Gabriella Young, Shavon Phelps (JaTez), and Tracie Phelps, all of Greenville, South Carolina; and his grandmother, Mary Ann Keitt of Far Rockaway, New York.

Their love, friendship, and shared memories will continue to honor Leslie's life and the lasting impact he made on those closest to him.

He is also lovingly remembered by his uncles, Anainas Westbrooks (Sharon) and Johnny Westbrooks Jr., both of Far Rockaway, New York,  Andre Young, Paul Williams, Philip Williams, Charles Williams Aunt Tiffany Williams-Shaw (Jason) his four special friends, Precious Burnside, David Ryda, Lindsay Rhea, and Kierra Blakely, all of Greenville, South Carolina. Their love, friendship, and shared memories will continue to honor Leslie's life and the lasting impact he made on those closest to him.

A private cremation will be held in accordance with the family's wishes.

Though his time here was far too brief, Leslie's memory will live on through the love of his family, the loyalty of his friends, and the many lives he touched. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
