Linda Dale Sayers Pickens, 81, passed away on June 29, 2025, after a period of declining health.

Linda was born in Greenville, SC on July 8, 1943, to Fred L. "Boots" Sayers and Lucille Brissey Sayers. She grew up in the Brandon Mill community and attended Carolina High School. On December 19, 1959, she married the love of her life, Marlin David "Peewee" Pickens. Together they made their home in the Berea community, until his death in 2021 after nearly 62 years of marriage. Over the years, Linda enjoyed sewing, crafting, gardening, and spending time with her grandchildren. She had a memorable personality and will be greatly missed by her friends and family, but they rejoice that she is healed and reunited with her beloved husband.

She is survived by two sons, Michael David Pickens and wife Kimberly of Simpsonville, and Bryan Keith Pickens and wife Kathryn of Easley; grandchildren: Meagan Pickens Staton and husband Andrew, Bryanna Pickens and fiance Jack Spence, Brayden Pickens, Joshua Pickens, Kryslyn Pickens, and Natalie Spradlin; one great-grandchild, Violet Staton; sister, Diane Hines and husband Pat; and a beloved niece and nephew, Kimberly Smith and Mark Smith.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Sandra Ann Sayers Bowers; a brother, Fred David Sayers; as well as an infant son and a granddaughter.

In accordance with Linda's wishes, only a graveside service will be held, to be conducted 11:00 AM Thursday, July 3, 2025 at Graceland Cemetery West, 4814 White Horse Rd., Greenville, SC 29611.

The family wishes to express their gratitude to the senior communities and healthcare workers who have helped care for Linda in recent years.
