Mark Everett Coggins, 84, of 409 West Ave. passed away on December 4, 2010. He is the husband of the late Wilma Wood Coggins. He was born in Speedwell, NC and was the son of the late Victor Cecil and Annie Marie Connor Coggins.
Mr. Coggins retired in 1991 from Michelin as a Boiler Room Operator. He is also a Shriner, a Mason, a member of Yellow Mtn. Baptist Church in Cashiers, NC, and a veteran of the US Navy.
He is survived by six daughters: Kathy Coggins of Greenville, Peggy Gibson of Greenville, Melva (Cecil) Gibson of Greenville, Bonnie (Mike) Adams of Easley, Margaret Best of Travelers Rest, Vickie Durham (David "Yogi" Smith) of Greenville; one sister, Trudy (Thurman) Blaine of Waynesville, NC; nine grandchildren, seven great grandchildren; a dear friend, Randall Durham.
He is predeceased by siblings: Melva Coggins, Winnie Jenkins, Hazel Fetner, Freeman Coggins, Cecil Coggins, Redell Coggins, Azalee Kite, and Lawton Coggins; one granddaughter, Diamond Adams.
The family offers special thanks to: Interim Hospice and caregivers, especially Rose Cobb who is predeceased, Vickie Durham and David "Yogi" Smith, and Jennifer and Tony Arrowood.
Funeral services will be on December 7, 2010 at 1:00 pm in the chapel of Graceland Mortuary. There will be a visitation prior to the service from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm at the mortuary.
