Maurice Levernon Mitchell of Greenville, passed away Sunday,June 25, 2017. He was the son of the late Tommy Bunns, Sr. and Frankie Bunns Mitchell and the loving husband of 56 years to Peggy Davis Mitchell. Mr. Mitchell proudly served his country as a member of the United States Air Force and retired after twenty-plus years of service. He was a member of Rock Of Ages Baptist Church.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Mitchell is survived by a son, Maurice Mitchell, Jr., and a daughter, Paula Mitchell Walker (McArthur). He was the proud grandfather of Maurice Killingsworth (Estoria), Sharmece Mitchell, Marco, Jaden, and Jessica "Sissy" Mitchell, and Destiny Tate. He was also a great-grandfather to Alacyea and Skylar Killingsworth and Chasity Tate. Also surviving are Mr. Mitchell's sisters, Ada, Dorothy Jean, Bobbie Ann, Shirley, and Mildred Bunns.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, June 29 at Rock Of Ages Baptist Church located at 105 Donaldson Road in Greenville. Interment will follow at Graceland WEST Memorial Park.

The family has entrusted Graceland Mortuary to assist them in their time of need.
