IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Michael James
"Mike" Mcalister
December 18, 1959 – November 3, 2025
Michael James McAlister, known to most simply as "Mike", passed away on November 3, 2025, at the age of 65.
Mike spent his life working with his hands, his mind, and his craft. He began learning cabinetry as a teenager, working alongside his father during the summers – a skill that rooted itself in him and ultimately became his greatest workmanship passion. He was an experienced CAD operator, a licensed residential home builder, and later finished his career as a project manager in construction. His true artistry, though, shined in custom cabinetry, where he found both pride and purpose.
Mike was a loving father, a familiar face around town, and someone who, through all of life's turns, remained dedicated to his family in his own way. Among his most cherished titles was "Deddy", given to him by his daughter – a name that carried tenderness, affection, and deep meaning.
Mike is survived by his daughter, Tara McAlister (Chris Jackson); his sisters, Karen Jenkinson and April Walters (John Anglin); and his nieces,
Renee Dickerson (Johnny) and Morgan Walters. He is preceded in death by his parents, James T. McAlister and Barbara McAlister.
Family and friends are invited to gather, Thursday November 6, from 2:00-4:00 PM at 1213 Three Bridges Road, Easley, SC 29642, where Tara will welcome visitors to share memories and celebrate Mike's life together.
