Ophelia Bowers, 85, was gloriously reunited with her loved ones in Heaven on Saturday, February 20th, 2021. She was born on February 7th, 1936, to the late Gaston Holden and the late Margia Irene McCollum.

Ophelia was a wonderful example of what a wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend should be. She was married to the late Jerry Bowers and remained faithfully by his side until he passed away. She was an excellent caregiver to her husband and her family. Ophelia was very devoted to her church and her church family whom she loved dearly. There wasn't a person out there that could say one bad thing about Ophelia and her kind, loving heart. She was a pillar of strength, generosity, and positivity. She never complained about anything and always found a ray of sunshine in every situation. Her upbeat personality and gentle spirit will be missed by so many that were fortunate to have known such an incredible woman.

Those left to keep the light of Ophelia alive are her grandson, Matthew Howell, and her siblings, Vivian Dickson and Larry (Lois) Holden.

Ophelia now joins her beloved husband, Jerry Bowers; her parents: Gaston Holden and Margia McCollum; her son, Michael Bowers; and siblings, James Holden, Ethel Blakley, Cornelia Holden, Joseph Holden, Jr., Leon Holden, and Randall Holden.

A graveside service is planned for Wednesday, February 24, 2021 at 11:30 am at Graceland Cemetery- WEST.
