Greenville, South Carolina
Mr. Robert Edwin Allen, 95, of 20 Hale Street, died February 26, 2009. He is a native of Hunter Township (Watts Mill), Laurens, SC. He was the son of the late Arthur Harvey and Lizzie Sydney Horan-Allen.
Mr. Allen was retired from J.P. Stevens Mills in the Dunean Community. He is survived by his wife of 77 years, Emma Jean Bennett-Allen;sons,Charles E. Allen (Ophelia) of Mauldin, SC, Donald R. Allen (Harriett) of Fountain Inn, SC and Grady F. Allen (Deborah) of Columbia, SC. Daughters, Joyce J. Nalley (Marvin)of Spartanburg, SC and Barbara A. Clark of Hickory Tavern, SC; sisters,Maude Boynton of Camden, SC and Sybil Pratt of Longview, TX; 13 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren.
Graveside services will be conducted at 1PM on Saturday February 28, 2009 in the Graceland West Cemetery on White Horse Road. There will not be any visitation.
The family will be at 20 Hale Street in Greenville.
