Robert James Rice, 95, of Piedmont passed away on Wednesday, March 18, 2020, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on February 08, 1925 to the late James Ovie Rice and Bertie Motes Rice.

Robert successfully ran his own plumbing business, R&R Plumbing, for many years. He had a lifelong love of Harley motorcycles and NASCAR. He rode his motorcycle up until he was in his late 80's with his best buddy and riding partner Allen Fulbright (Sheila). He was a long time member of Tremont Church of God.

He is survived by two daughters: Geraldine (Charles) and Peggy (Dan); six grandchildren: Teresa, Eddie, Karen (Wade), Vickie (Timmy), Tracy (Ricky), and Todd (Carrie); sister Azelia; brother Jimmy; daughter-in-law Tammy; son-in-law Charles; 18 great grandchildren, and 15 great-great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Robert is preceded in death by his first wife Alice, the mother of his children; his second wife Thelma, daughter Carolyn, son Bobby, and grandson Steve.

A Graveside service will take place on Monday, March 23, 2020 at 12:30 pm at Graceland Cemetery-WEST, located at 4814 White Horse Road in Greenville.
