Obituary

Ronda Monette Hanvey, beloved and devoted wife and mother, 64, native of Greenville, SC, passed away peacefully Tuesday, May 20, 2025. She was born October 8, 1960 to the late Barbara Peterson and Ronnie Eugene Walters.

Ronda is survived by her husband, Richard "Mark" Hanvey; three children: Richard Mark Hanvey II, Ryan Barratte Hanvey, and Heather Camille Hanvey; four grandchildren: Russell, Haven, Teague, and Harley; two sisters, Rachel Moreton and Regina Clark; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Russell Walters; sister, Ramona Burns; and grandson, Cameron.

Ronda was married to the love of her life, Mark, for 46 years. Together they shared a life filled with love, companionship and laughter. She was known for her strong, unwavering devotion to her family. She was passionate in life and found joy in family, friends, arts, and crafts. She especially enjoyed traveling with family and friends to the mountains, beaches, and on Caribbean cruises.

A Funeral Mass to celebrate Ronda's life will be held 1:00 PM Wednesday, May 28, 2025 at Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church, 3710 Augusta Rd., Gantt, SC 29605. The family will receive friends and loved ones from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM prior at Graceland Mortuary, 4814 White Horse Rd., Greenville, SC 29611. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to the American Diabetes Association, www.diabetes.org .
