Ruben Romero, 67, of Spartanburg, SC, passed away peacefully December 5, 2025. He was born May 16,1958, one of seven children to Gloria and Juan Romero.

Ruben was a creative and loving person. He was able to lighten anyone's day with his jokes. He spent his time drawing, working on cars, doing crosswords, and listening to music, but the most enjoyable part of his day was cooking for his loving family.

Ruben was a husband, son, brother, father, friend, and much more to others. He leaves behind a loving wife, Gladys Cortes-Romero; children: Enrique Romero (Angela), Albert Del-Toro, Adam Del-Toro, Vincent Smith (Melissa), and Jacklyn Smith; and many, many grandkids.

Unfortunately, Ruben struggled with cancer for some time. It made him stronger by giving him the will power to carry on. It made him feel like he could beat this like if he was doing a puzzle, but just like his puzzles it was a challenge; he didn't give up, he looked for an answer. He found strength through the almighty power of the Lord.

A funeral service to celebrate Ruben's life will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, December 11, 2025 at Graceland Mortuary, 4814 White Horse Rd., Greenville, SC 29611. His family will receive friends and loved ones an hour prior, beginning 1:00 PM. Committal and burial will follow in Graceland Cemetery West located at the same address.
