Sherri McCarrell, 64, died peacefully during the early morning hours of Sunday, April 7, 2024. Born in Columbia, SC and raised in Greenville, SC, she was an adored and loved daughter, sister, niece and friend.

Sherri was predeceased by her parents, Robert Bruce and Civila Clara Whittle McCarrell. She is survived by her sister, Terri Keaney (Mark) of Taylors, SC; her uncle, Mack I Whittle Jr (Jennifer) of Greenville, SC; her aunt, Patricia McCarrell Benson of Columbia, SC; and her cousins: Quincy Whittle, Cameron Whittle Strange, Lee Whittle, Cathy Altman Lamb, and Bill, Mack, and Gary Altman. Sherri is also survived by dedicated and treasured Atlanta friends: Alana Smith, Edward Haygood and Shelley Foland, and leaves behind her beloved Cocker Spaniel, Sandi.

Sherri was a sports lover, talented artist, and graphic designer. After graduating from JL Mann High School ('77) and then Winthrop University ('81), Sherri put her professional creative talents to work in visual merchandising and marketing with Carters, Russell Athletic, RaceTrac Petroleum, Boxercraft and Schauben & Co. She was an avid USC Gamecocks fan – especially women's basketball.

A graveside funeral and committal service will be held 1:00 PM Wednesday, April 10, 2024, at Graceland East Memorial Park, 2206 Woodruff Road, Simpsonville, SC 29681.

Sherri's family and friends are grateful for the compassionate care she received at the Northside Hospital Cancer Institute during her five-year cancer battle. They are also grateful for the wonderful staff at AccentCare Hospice in Cumming, GA.
