IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Sylvia M
Lambert
October 24, 1934 – March 11, 2020
Sylvia M. Lambert, 85, passed away on Wednesday, March 11, 2020. She was surrounded by her devoted family as she entered the Father's Heavenly embrace. Sylvia was born on October 24, 1934 to the late Porter Gregg and Hattie Mae Howard.
Sylvia was a very special person to her family. She was well loved and much respected woman by those who knew her, as she never met a stranger. Sylvia loved her dog, Frisky, and spoiled him rotten everyday. She worked at Bibb Company for 16 years and was a hard worker. She also worked at Hampton Inn as the breakfast hostess. Sylvia was a strong willed person, wonderful mother, grandmother, great and great-great grandmother, and will be missed dearly. Sylvia and her husband would pick the guitars and play gospel. She loved to sit on the porch swing and admire the sunshine, ride through the mountains, and her favorite thing was family gatherings.
She is survived by three daughters: Janet Burns, Teresa Smith, and Nita Jones; son Ricky Lambert; brother Wallace Gregg (Jenette); eleven grandchildren: Shawn Jones (Nicki Allen), Shannon Jones, Tracy Kennedy (Lonny), Christopher Smith, Sylvia Ashley McAdams, Krystal Dawn Walker (Travis), Hannah Taylor Williams (Joel), Ricky Covington (Susan), Darren Mathis (Christie), Jason Lambert, and Bryan Horton; fourteen great grandchildren: Brittany Jones, Dustin Jones, Brandon Jones, Cole Jones, Chance Kennedy, Cole Smith, Marley Griffin, Rosalyn Walker, Joë Walker, Xander Walker, Hunter Covington, Trent Covington, Kaydence Mathis, and Kaylie Mathis; and two great great grandchildren: Scarlett Rayne Lesley and Riley Jones.
In addition to her parents, Sylvia is preceded in death by her husband Glenn Elliot Lambert; son Stevie Lambert; brother Billy Gregg; and five sisters: Selma Stanciel, Helen Grimes, Annette Blalock, Edith Market, and Laura Mae Swofford.
