Vertie Mae Burgess 84, of Cleveland, SC passed away Tuesday, October 10, 2017. She was a daughter of the late Edward and Ethel Ferguson Reeves and was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church for many years.

In addition to her loving husband of 68 years, Cecil Burgess, Vertie is survived by a son, Roger Burgess, and four grandchildren. She is preceded in death by two sons, Randy and Tommy Burgess, three brothers, and two sisters.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm Friday, October 13, 2017 at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until service time at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church located at 620 Pleasant Grove Road Pickens, SC 29671. Interment will follow services in the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
