William Floyd Davis

William Floyd Davis, 87, of 100 Maryland Ave. passed away on Tuesday, December 29, 2009 at his home.
He was born on July 26, 1922 and is the son of the late William Matthew and Jane Green Davis.
Mr. Davis served in the Army as a sergeant during WWII in the 165th Engineers of the 3rd Army. He also received an American Theater Service Medal, Eame Service Medal with 3 Bronze Service Stars, Good Conduct Medal, and a World War II Victory Medal. He was also a 3rd degree Mason.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret M. Davis of the home; a son, William R. (Cindy) Davis of Anderson, SC; Grandchildren: William M. Davis and Samuel Lee Davis of Travelers Rest, SC; five great grand children.
There will be a visitation on Saturday January 2, 2010 from 1:00 PM until 1:45 PM at Graceland Mortuary. Graveside services will follow at Graceland Cemetery West at 2:00 PM. The Rev. Robert Pittman, Jr. of Grace Baptist Church will be conducting the service.
