William Isaac Harkins, 94, of Greenville, SC peacefully passed away Saturday, April 9, 2016 at the Open Arms Hospice House in Simpsonville, SC after an extended illness.

Mr. Harkins was born in 1922 in Brevard, NC to the late Mr. and Mrs. John Harrison and Flora B. Harkins and moved to Greenville County, South Carolina as a youth. He was a WWII veteran who served in the US Army from November 1942 until the end of the war.

Mr. Harkins is preceded in death by his first wife, Mrs. Julia Moore Harkins who passed in 1970. To cherish his memory, he leaves behind his wife, Betty Pace Harkins, of the home. He is also survived by five children, two step-children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Bill was the owner of Carolina Radiator Shop in Greenville for approximately 50 years. All of his life he strived to be a good Christian example to his family and friends. He was a member of Victory Chapel Baptist Church.

Visitation for Mr. Harkins will be held Thursday, April 14, 2016 from 2:00pm to 3:00pm at The Graceland Mortuary located at 4814 White Horse Road, Greenville, SC. 29611. A graveside service with military honors will be held immediately following the visitation at Graceland Cemetery -West with the Rev. Tommy Ramey officiating.
