William Henry Porter, 85, of Greenville, South Carolina went to be with his Savior on December 2, 2021. His wife, Fran, of 64 years was by his side. William retired from Overnite Transportation. He was a faithful member of Simpsonville Free Will Baptist Church and served as Treasurer of the Beaver Creek Association for 46 years. He also served as Assistant Pastor of First Free Will Baptist Church, Greenville SC for 16 years. He and Fran also dedicated many years of their lives to caring for children at the Free Will Baptist Home for Children. William loved his Lord Jesus Christ above all and delighted in his family. He will be dearly missed and always remembered by those who loved him.
William was predeceased by his father and mother, Dewitt and Eleanora Porter, and brother, James Porter. He is survived by his wife, Fran Porter, son, Brad Porter (Donna), grandchildren, Colby Porter (Niki) and Kelsey Belandria (Italo), great grandchildren, Hazel Porter and Ela Belandria, siblings, Grace Satterfield, David Porter and Doyle Porter, many nieces and nephews, and many others who called him "Papa" through the years.
The family invites all of Williams's loved ones to join us in celebrating his life at Graceland Mortuary on Monday, December 6th. Visitation will be at 11:00am with the funeral following at 12:00pm.
